Juza Hyodo has never performed in theater in his life, but has always tended a passion—to "be someone other than himself" is the desire that he enters the auditions for Autumn troupe with. He has no acting experience, and barely any talent, but the desire to stand on stage is his key into the troupe alongside Banri Settsu, Taichi Nanao, Omi Fushimi and Sakyo Furuichi. Autumn troupe's performances focus on action packed stories that make full use of the members' physical prowess. Azami Izumida joins Autumn troupe as its sixth member in Act 7.
Banri is Juza's rival—after engaging him in a fist fight to satisfy his own ego—and despite being made to share a room they don't get along. Yet, the competition between them is what drives both to steadily improve on stage.
CANON POINT: before Part 3, Act 11 (after Trump the phantom thief)
CANON UPDATE: Juza has gained confidence in himself as an actor. As a result, while still aware of all that his acting lacks, he is more forward and sure in his decisions and choices on the stage. Firmly surrounded by people who value him for who he is as a person, there is a similar change to him off stage, though worry about how his openness comes across—maybe too coarse?—still follows him some ways.

▶VISUAL: Juza has purple, slicked back hair. He's rather tall and muscular, and that combined with his standard grim facial expression makes him look pretty intimidating. He gets into fights because of it, and is often noted down as a classic delinquent. His clothing style is casual, wearing a plain white shirt with a college jacket over top, black pants and sandals, or a sweatshirt over a simple T-shirt. In the way he carries himself, he's perceived as older than he is.
▶AURAL: Voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi, Juza has a deep, monotone voice. He sometimes mumbles on purpose, or talks to himself, but when he's being provoked his tone is quick to rise. He is a good singer.
▶BEHAVIOR: Despite his looks and lone-wolf attitude, Juza is actually an earnest and caring young man, treasuring his few close relationships with friends and family. He is honest and critical of himself and his acting, steadily trying to improve while he is aware of his shortcomings. Not interested in fights, he still gets involved because of his looks, resulting in moments that have him act impulsively. Banri happens to provoke him easily, but he gets along well with the other members of the company. He isn't shy to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers, although the might shirk back at first because of his appearance.
Juza has always wanted to act since he was young, seeking to break free from the 'standard gangster'-stereotype plastered on him. Though Banri is his rival, the competition between them is what drives both to improve.
As Juza takes on the lead role of Autumn troupe's sixth play, Fallen Blood, he doubts his way as an actor. Measuring himself against Banri's abilities and what he finds himself lacking on stage, he struggles with what kind of actor he is, the kinds of roles he is capable of. Encouragement from his troupe-mates allows him to see the value of his own methods and his natural talent to get into his character roles deeply, in the end.
